The Deer Creek neighborhood of Tigard: This quiet neighborhood is located in the southwest portion of the City of Tigard. The Deer Creek neighborhood lies on the edge of the Urban Growth Boundary and is adjacent to many farms, wooded areas, and seasonal creeks and wetlands. This provides ideal habitat for deer, which roam the streets and yards of this area, hence the name, Deer Creek. Deer can be seen in the area at all times of the year. It certainly is majestic to see a full set of antlers on a male deer.
The quiet Deer Creek neighborhood of Tigard is generally associated with the affluent area of Bull Mountain and Beef Bend Road. Single family homes start at about $300,000 and go to over a million dollars. There are also townhomes, condos and apartments in the neighborhood. There is plenty of abundant shopping nearby. The commute to downtown Portland is about 25 minutes, about 45 minutes to the Portland Airport, and it takes about 90 minutes to get to the Oregon Coast. The superb shopping at Washington Square Mall is less than 15 minutes away. There are plenty of retail stores and restaurants less than 10 minutes away. If you play golf, the courses at King City and Summerfield are very close.
The unofficial community center for this neighborhood would be Deer Creek Elementary School of the Tigard – Tualatin School District. This highly regarded, and fairly new school, is well supported by local parents.
